Azure Subscriptions and Accounts
Subscription
Contains the various resources you provision in the cloud, e.g.:
- Virtual Machines
- Databases
- Networks
- Etc.
For everything you create in the cloud, you pick the subscription to which they will be provisioned.
A single subscription can be attached to multiple accounts.
Account
An identity with access to resources in the subscription (e.g. you). You can attach an account to multiple subscriptions.
Subscriptions are of associated with a cost center in many companies. They can be thought of as an "account level container of resources".
Note: If an organisation has multiple subscriptions, these can be managed using Management Groups.
